Cats with primary or recurrent vaccine-associated sarcoma

Eligibility Requirements
• Cats with any histologically confirmed, vaccine-associated sarcomas (VAS) of any histiologic subtype, with measurable tumor, may be eligible for this study.

Study Objective
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of lomustine in cats with VAS.

Compensation
Owners are responsible for the cost of the initial staging (approximately $00-$600), and then all costs associated with the performance of the study are supported. Please click on the link for more details.

Feline Fibrosarcoma Study

Eligibility Requirements
• Any cat diagnosed with an injection-site sarcoma or sponstaneously arising sarcoma.
• Biopsy must be placed immediately in a RNA preserving solution.

Study Objective
The goal of this study is to identify potential targets for treatment and prevention to improve the outcome for cats with sarcomas. Dr. Marlene Hauck is evaluating the genetic changes that are seen in these tumors along with genetic changes see in spontaneously arising sarcomas and injection sites.

Compensation
There is no financial incentive to take part in this study. NCSU is happy to ship the RNA preservative solution to any veterinarian performing a biopsy on a cat suspected of one of the above conditions.
