Allyson Stewart, CVT
 |
|
Allyson has worked in the
veterinary profession for over 8 years, and has had a lifetime love of animals.
After leaving college to pursue a full time career in veterinary medicine, she
became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2003. She has learned many aspects
of this profession, but her real interest lies in helping animals (and their
people) deal with cancer. She has worked with Dr. Post for over 5 years,
learning as much as she can about cancer treatment, and is currently learning to
take more of a managerial role at VOHC. When she leaves work at the end of the
day, she shares her couch with her husband, two crazy dogs and three very
mischievous cats. |

Whitney Paradise, BS
 |
|
Whitney earned her Bachelor of
Science degree from the University of Connecticut in 2001majoring in Animal
Science, and has been working
in the hospital setting since. She has a genuine interest in the welfare of the
animals that she cares for. At the VOHC, where she has been since its opening,
she acts as both primary receptionist as well as technician. She has been around
animals since she was very young, and currently has two cats. |

Cindy Brelsford, CVT
 |
|
Cindy has over
eleven years of experience in the veterinary field, working her way through various
departments in the general practice setting, as well as learning more specialized techniques at
the VREC. After developing a special interest in Oncology, she began working with the VOHC when the
facility opened. When not helping other people’s animals, she spends her time with her family,
which includes two children, three dogs and two cats. |

Maria Salas
 |
|
Maria has been
in the veterinary field for over 10 years, working in many different positions. A native
of Florida, she attended Florida Atlantic University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in
Biology. She is currently working towards her certification as a veterinary technician. She
comes to us after 6 years of traveling the country teaching veterinary software and consulting at
hundreds of animal hospitals, ranging from small animal general practices to multi-specialty “mega”
hospitals. When she finally decided to stop traveling, she felt that becoming a Referral Coordinator
was the perfect fit for her skills and experience. After visiting VOHC several times in the past years,
she made the decision to move to CT and become part of the team in early 2007. She claims she has never
been happier with her profession. “It’s a great feeling to be part of a team that is making such a
difference in pet’s and their family’s lives during what can be a difficult time”, she said. When not
visiting hospitals or caring for animals at VOHC, she enjoys playing with Tootsie and Marble, her two
ferrets. During her spare time, she also plays bass guitar at her church and works with the
middle school kids there, as well. |

Kim Strazza

Kim has always known that
she would end up working with animals. She is currently enrolled in the veterinary assistant
program at Norwalk Community College. Recently, Kim completed a clinical rotation at the
Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center. She hopes to eventually become certified as a veterinary
technologist. Currently, Kim is gaining her knowledge in the specialty of oncology in her key
role as a veterinary assistant here at VOHC. Kim lives in Greenwich with her little zoo.
She has Cody, the Chihuahua; Chloe, the cat; Lilly, the rabbit and 2 turtles, Rocky and Bullwinkle!
In her spare time, Kim loves spending time with her animals, friends and family. |
