Lymphoma
Symptoms   CATS: Weight, hair or appetite loss, increased water and urination. Swelling of lymph nodes or face.

DOGS: Weight loss, vomiting diarrhea, loss of appetite. Swelling of lymph nodes or abdomen.

Likely Location / Spread   Lymphoma may occur anywhere as there are lymphatic vessels in every organ.
Treatment Options  Chemotherapy is the best treatment since lymphoma is a systemic disease.
Treatment Side Effects   Mild. 80% show no or minimal side effects. 20% show vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or energy.
Treatment Duration  CATS: Once per week for 6 to 8 weeks, then every other week for 2 years.

DOGS: Once weekly for 6 weeks, then every other week for 6 weeks or once every 3 weeks for 12 treatments.

Likely Outcome  CATS: Without chemotherapy: 4-6 weeks. With chemotherapy:60-70% respond well and live 7-12 months; 30-40% live 2 or more years.

DOGS: With chemotherapy: 75% live 14 months or more; 25% live 2 years or more.
